Tucker Carlson reveals the ‘precise moment’ Washington decided to ‘send Donald Trump to prison’

Fox News is struggling in its ratings, and its former host Tucker Carlson is blowing away media altogether with his new independent programming on Twitter.

Carlson may have gotten more views in three weeks than all other media put together for possibly an entire year and what he is revealing about how DC operates is more interesting to Americans than the corporate media’s propaganda.

Over the past two weeks, Carlson has released three videos that have collectively gotten over 205.1 million views. His content, which includes commentary on the indictment of former President Donald Trump and critiques of the Washington establishment, continues to resonate with a massive audience.

Carlson has released three episodes on Twitter thus far, with his latest coming on Tuesday. The Daily Mail reported that in the third Twitter show – Carlson notably claimed that Trump had made a ‘blood enemy’ of the Federal Government and the evidence is the charges Trump faced this week.

Carlson claimed on Tuesday night, after Trump appeared at a Florida courthouse, that he was indicted because he “dared to challenge the U.S. military industry, and question America’s role in international conflicts”.

Trump also declared that the elite in Washington, D.C., decided to ‘take Trump out’ because he rejected involvement in foreign wars. He accused the intelligence community of lying about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. ‘It’s been inevitable since February 16, 2016,’ said Carlson, referencing a Republican primary debate held in Greenville, South Carolina. ‘That’s the day Donald Trump made a blood enemy of the largest and most powerful organization in human history, which would be the federal Government.’

The Daily Mail reported more details about Carlson’s third Twitter show:

Carlson said Trump was ‘doomed’ when he condemned the Iraq invasion, and told the South Carolina audience: ‘They lied. They knew there were no weapons of mass destruction.’ Carlson added: ‘Seven and a half years later, we can point to the precise moment that permanent Washington decided to send Donald Trump to prison.’ The former Fox News host made the claims in the third episode of his social media news cast, Tucker On Twitter, which has replaced his primetime show.

Carlson was fired by Fox in April: the network is now taking legal action to stop him broadcasting on Twitter, insisting that he is not allowed to host a show until his contract ends in 2025. But Carlson’s lawyers insist that Fox executives violated his contract, and rendered it invalid, so he is free to air his show. On Tuesday night he claimed that Trump’s indictment was due to his foreign policy, and dislike of international involvement. ‘Most of permanent Washington decided that thwarting Trump was the single most important mission in their lives,’ he said.

He began by describing what he saw as the culmination of a plot to bring down Trump. ‘The Biden administration arrested Donald Trump this afternoon: they had him arrested and fingerprinted in a Miami courthouse like the accused felon he technically is,’ Carlson said. ‘These are the first steps in a process that is designed to put Donald Trump behind bars for the rest of his life. Cable news carried every moment of it live: “It’s unprecedented,” they told us, with what looked like shock.’ He said no one ought to be shocked, because his arrest had been a long time coming – sparked by his questioning of America’s foreign policy. He said his fate was sealed not by rhetoric around immigration or China. ‘Identity politics doesn’t mean much to permanent Washington,’ said Carlson. ‘What matters, then and now, is foreign policy. The invasions and occupations and proxy wars. The decisions which determine which global populations will thrive, and which will die. The policies that come with trillion dollar price tags. The ones which, over time, made the counties around DC the richest suburbs in the world.’

He said that whenever ‘Congress decides to start a war, no matter how foolish or counterproductive or obviously disconnected from America’s interests that war may be,’ the political class respond enthusiastically. ‘The leaders of both parties automatically jump behind it like circus clowns,’ Carlson said, arguing that they stayed in formation until it was decided it was acceptable to admit the war had been a failure. ‘Until then, no dissent is allowed,’ he said. ‘That’s the first rule of Washington. But somehow Trump didn’t bother to follow it. He’s from out of town so maybe he didn’t know it was a rule: maybe he just didn’t care. Either way, seven and a half years later we can point to the precise moment that permanent Washington decided to send Donald Trump to prison.’

Carlson claimed that the more cannier operatives in Washington who disagreed with Trump – he cited Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Lindsey Graham and Mike Pompeo – got close to him in a bid to bring him down.

‘The stealthier ones took another path. They ran towards Trump, not away from him,’ said Carlson. ‘They did this in order to be able to subvert his administration from inside. They were there slobbering over their boss with elaborate self-abasement, as if they were addressing a monarch of a God. It was a scene from the Ottoman court. It was filthy and decadent and false.’
