A new poll shows President Donald Trump’s approval rating in the Republican Party is very strong in crucial swing states ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

According to a Morning Consult survey conducted in March, “Roughly 4 in 5 Republican voters in the early primary states of Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania hold favorable opinions about the former president.”

The survey results conducted in these states show that Trump has an exceedingly high approval rating among Republican voters. Trump’s approval rating among Republicans is 86 percent in Georgia, 80 percent in Ohio, 87 percent in North Carolina, and 77 percent in Pennsylvania.

According to The Hill, his approval rating in each of these states significantly surpasses the approval ratings of other Republican leaders such as former Vice President Mike Pence, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.

The 45th president remains a dominating figure in the Republican Party, causing candidates across the nation to vie for his support. Trump’s endorsements are critical in the 2022 midterms due to their high success rate.

There are a few critical Senate races in the battleground states’ midterm elections that the 45th president has weighed in on. Trump has endorsed Herschel Walker in his race to unseat Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., Rep. Ted Budd in his campaign to replace retiring Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Dr. Mehmet Oz in his close primary race to replace retiring Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa.

Trump has not yet endorsed a Senate candidate in Ohio, although multiple Republicans seek his support.
