Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are now attempting to make it impossible for any President of the United States to impose travel restrictions going forward. Imposing such restrictions so has traditionally been the responsibility of the President and has been done several times in our country’s history.
It is the executive branch that has the Constitutional responsibility of setting foreign policy. However, Pelosi and the Democrat power structure see the wide hatred of Donald Trump as an opportunity to weaken the powers of the presidency. In doing so they would be increasing the power of congress. In the meantime President Biden has removed the travel ban that Trump imposed to protect the U.S. from Islamic Terrorists.
The immediate concern to former president Trump is that without his travel bans, the United States will be less safe. Trump knows that allowing people into the country from certain places will increase the likelihood of more attacks. What’s worse, the vetting requirements that Trump put in place have also been removed. The Democrat’s open border concept that Trump warned us about during the election is being implemented.
Protecting the United States from its enemies and doing what he could to keep the country safe is something that President Trump took seriously. Recently former he released the following statement on his official website, 45office.
“If Joe Biden wants to keep our Country safe from Radical Islamic Terrorism, he should reinstitute the foreign country Travel Ban and all of the vetting requirements on those seeking admission that go with it, along with the refugee restrictions I successfully put in place. Terrorists operate all over the world and recruit online. To keep terrorism and extremism out of our Country, we need to have smart, commonsense rules in place so we don’t repeat the many immigration mistakes made by Europe—and the USA prior to “Trump.”
