President Trump continues to follow through on his campaign promise to address the high cost of prescription drugs.
On Wednesday, the president signed two pieces of legislation aimed at increasing transparency in prescription pricing.
The measures will end gag orders, which prevent pharmacies from telling patients if they can save money by paying the cash price for medications.

The president explained this is part of his administration’s work with Congress to provide the health care Americans deserve.
“Today I’m thrilled to sign two bills that will lower the cost of prescription drugs. It’s the Know the Lowest Price Act of 2018 and the Patient’s Right to Know Lowest Price Act. Obviously, based on the name you can tell that this gives people knowledge as to prices at different locations, where to buy the drugs. One of the laws deals with patients who have private insurance and is set to take effect right away. The other applies to Medicare recipients and will go into effect in January of 2020. / OAN
