President Trump says U.S. tariffs have helped the nation bargain for fair trade, amid heightened tensions around the globe.

In a tweet Monday, the president said billions of dollars and jobs have been pouring into the U.S. as a result and increased costs have been essentially unnoticeable.

The president said countries unwilling to participate in fair trade will be tariffed.

President Trump said he will make a major announcement on trade with China after the markets closed Monday.
