Efficient Use Of Taxpayer Dollars In Trump Immigration Proposal

Trump immigrationThe Trump administration is considering an immigration proposal which it hopes will make the best use of taxpayer funds.

A spokeswoman for the plan says it protects the American taxpayer, while making sure foreign nationals who want to become U.S. citizens are self-sufficient.

Some immigration attorneys claim the proposal would make it harder for legal immigrants to become citizens. From the administration’s point of view it may be asked if the point of any plan is to necessarily make becoming a citizen easier or to maintain a fair and reasonable policy.

Customs and Immigration Services rejected the claim that the proposals would make the process more difficult, saying that the proposal will not change the naturalization application process. Details of the plan are still being finalized and are expected to be released sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, the congressman from Arizona , Andy Briggs, has introduced the Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act, which would, among other provisions, penalize the country of origin of each illegal immigrant by making cuts to foreign aid.

The penalty is slated at $2,000 per incident and would be deducted from aid given to those countries. The money would then be used, along with other funding methods in the bill, to fund the president’s southern border wall.

There are other provisions in the bill that would also raise fees on foreign wire transfers, restore previous overtime pay rates for Border Patrol agents, and require the wall to be built by December 2019. The fees for wire transfers are something that Donald Trump mentioned during his 2016 campaign.

The above comes just after President Trump has officially announced his selection of 30-year border protection veteran Ronald Vitiello to lead ICE.
