Family of Gabby Petito file $50M wrongful death suit against Utah Police

Lawyers for the family outlined the plans Monday and said they are suing the Moab Utah Police for negligence of the law and how to enforce it. They said their goal is to hold government entities accountable and raise awareness of intimate partner violence and its dangers. Gabby first interacted with Moab Police on August 12, 2020 when they responded to a domestic dispute call.

John Paz, 33, was found dead Monday, but authorities have not released details surrounding his death. He’s accused of shooting and killing deputy Andrew Peery on Sunday night as Peery along with several other deputies responded to a shooting at a home near Colorado Springs. Officials said when deputies arrived on the scene they were immediately met with gun fire.

Investigation underway after shots fired at Dallas airport

The FAA ordered a ground stop at the airport shortly after 11 a.m. local time due to the active shooter situation. Dallas Chief of Police Eddie Garcia said 37-year-old Portia Odufuwa began firing a handgun and a police officer engaged the suspect. He claimed that the woman entered the airport and went into a restroom to change clothes. Garcia expressed that the woman exited the restroom wearing a hoody and opened fire. Most of the shots appeared to be directed toward the ceiling.
