Japanese authorities search for motive in Abe murder

Abe, 67, was pronounced dead by doctors at the Nara Medical University Hospital, at 5:03 p.m local time on Friday, just over five hours after being shot while delivering a campaign speech in front of a small crowd on a street.

Japan agrees to trade talks with U.S.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said a new economic relationship with the U.S. should be a “win-win” for both countries. He made those remarks during a briefing at the UN General Assembly this week.

Abe had previously resisted trade talks for nearly two-years, instead, insisting on a multi-national trade pact.
