GOP Reps. issue preservation notices for AG Garland, FBI Chief Wray & Chief of Staff Klain over FBI raid
House Republicans are taking steps to getting answers from top Department of Justice and White House officials on the motivations behind the Mar-a-Lago raid. On Monday, members of the House Judiciary Committee, led by ranking member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), signed preservation notices for Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray and White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain.
In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, the 45th President said the FBI agents who went to his home demanded that the security cameras be turned off during the raid. Trump says his aides refused the FBI’s request.
The White House insisted that Joe Biden will run for re-election in 2024 despite admitting his approval rating is very low. In an interview on Sunday, the White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre praised Biden for getting several bills passed in the Democrat-controlled Congress.
