Authorities confirmed the death of the suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a Colorado deputy. John Paz, 33, was found dead Monday, but authorities have not released details surrounding his death. He’s accused of shooting and killing deputy Andrew Peery on Sunday night as Peery along with several other deputies responded to a shooting at a home near Colorado Springs. Officials said when deputies arrived on the scene they were immediately met with gun fire.
The Biden administration claimed they have killed the latest leader of Al-Qaeda in Kabul. According to reports Monday, citing unnamed intelligence sources, the CIA conducted a “successful drone strike” that killed Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

A January 6 defendant died of an apparent suicide while awaiting sentencing. A straw poll suggested young conservatives favor President Trump over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). The poll taken at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit was released on Sunday, where Trump overwhelmingly took the lead at 78.7 percent. However, 19 percent said they would vote for Ron DeSantis and one percent for South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R). Former Vice President Mike Pence (R-Ind.) came in last with just .3 percent.
The assassin of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is undergoing mental health evaluations as authorities try to find a motive to the killing. Abe, 67, was pronounced dead by doctors at the Nara Medical University Hospital, at 5:03 p.m local time on Friday, just over five hours after being shot while delivering a campaign speech in front of a small crowd on a street.
