Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador recently said he is looking into ways to streamline the country’s National Guard amid an increase in violence in the country. Reports said that Lopez Obrador has flirted with bypassing Mexico’s Congress in order to give control of the National Guard to Mexico’s army. The FBI executed a search warrant at 45th President Donald Trump’s estate at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. In a lengthy Truth Social statement Monday, Trump said that the FBI was conducting a search of his home and that agents had broken open a safe. He said that after cooperating with the relevant government agencies, the unannounced raid on his home was neither necessary nor appropriate.

Pinal County officials in Arizona are taking heat for major errors in this week’s primary election. The county fired its elections director, David Frisk, after a series of debacles left voters outraged. Frisk was let go on Thursday and replaced by Pinal County Recorder Virginia Ross.

A new poll claims Republicans would get a slight advantage over Democrats in the House of Representatives after this year’s midterms. According to CBS News’ “battleground tracker,” the GOP would secure 230 seats in the House this November while Democrats would hold 205 seats.
