Report: Donations To Border Patrol Foundation Up Under Pres. Trump

Border Patrol DonationsA report that was just released shows that donations to the Border Patrol Foundation have been increasing, since President Trump has taken office. President Trump highlights the bravery and service of the border patrol and law enforcement often.

According to the Washington Examiner, the increase has allowed the non-profit organization to expand its support of agents and their families. The needs of border patrol families are similar to the needs of those that serve in our military.

The group provides financial assistance to Border Patrol families dealing with certain life events, including the death of an agent. The primary mission of the Border Patrol Foundation is to provide financial resources to the immediate families of the fallen. Request for support can also be made for off-duty deaths, injuries, illnesses, and family medical emergencies. Financial support is available to all employees of the Border Patrol to include uniformed personnel and mission support. Through personal and corporate donations, the Board of Directors directs the distribution of funds as they are available and needed.

The group which began in 2009, also provides a number of college scholarships to children of fallen agents.

The executive director of the foundation said an increase in media coverage of the Border Patrol has inspired Americans to donate. Like so many non-profit organizations that do good work, they are all to often ignored my the media.
