German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also congratulated Trump on his 2024 presidential election victory. The chancellor noted that the United States and Germany have worked together “for a long time” to promote “prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic.” Looking ahead to a second Trump administration, Scholz said, “We will continue to do so for the wellbeing of our citizens.”
