Announced today on national news was a report by the CIA that Russia had meddled in the election of Donald Trump. According to CNN “multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation into Russia’s hacking told CNN last week that the US intelligence community is increasingly confident that Russian meddling in the US election was intended to steer the election towards Trump, rather than simply to undermine or in other ways disrupt the political process.”

Outgoing president Obama has bombastically claimed that he is responsible for making sure the intelligence community is not subject to political spin, despite the fact that scores of intelligence operatives complained that Obama twisted intelligence on ISIS for years to fit a political narrative.

In another sign that the transition isn’t proceeding as smoothly as President Obama professes, the Energy Department refused Tuesday to provide President-elect Donald Trump’s team with a list of federal employees who have worked on climate change programs.
