NBC Is Called Out As Fake News By President Trump Over Weinstein Reporting

President Trump recently called NBC fake news for allegedly killing a story on disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. It has been widely reported that NBC carefully decided not to publish the Weinstein scandalous report that exposed him as being an abuser and manipulator of women.

The president made the comments on Twitter Tuesday after journalist Ronan Farrow claimed he was blocked by NBC from further reporting on Weinstein. At first NBC denied that they had blocked the report from being published but later walked their statement back a bit.

President Trump calls attention to fake news reporting whenever he can having been the victim of misleading and contrived reporting himself.

President Trump said the network is now trying to make excuses for their “probably highly unethical conduct.”

He went on to say he has long criticized NBC and its journalistic standards, saying the network is worse than CNN.

Reports speculate NBC’s president works as a Hollywood screenwriter and didn’t want to upset Weinstein.

Farrow ended up taking his story to The New Yorker and won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage.
