The raid on the Trump family home in Florida by the Biden administration’s FBI has astonished GOP lawmakers and they are firing back.
Some vocal GOP leaders may be a target of those who don’t like the former president.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has led GOP criticism of federal law enforcement in recent weeks ever since the FBI’s unannounced search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
In the early hours of August 8, the FBI executed a search warrant on the Palm Beach mansion in an operation linked to classified documents sought by the National Archives.
Documents seized in the raid are being touted as “classified” as if they have no business being in Trump’s possession, but Trump has repeatedly stated that he himself declassified the documents before leaving office.
Not only that, but the documents have always been known by the government to be in Trump’s possession, and agents saw them in an earlier visit to Mar-a-Lago when they requested another lock be put on the door of the room where the documents were held.
Trump and his lawyers have affirmed that the documents in question are covered by executive privilege or are personal documents, such as the passports the FBI agents seized, and then returned when former President Trump demanded they do so.
The whole scenario is so outrageous that many have objected to the raid and are working to uncover the basis for which it happened.
Trump’s allies like Greene and GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik decried the raid as a weaponization of the Justice Department and have demanded consequences for Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.
After a call from members of Congress, law enforcement whistleblowers have come forward across the country to bring irregularities to light.
It’s prompted criticism from other Republicans who cite federal warnings of an increased wave of violent threats against federal law enforcement workers in the FBI raid’s fallout.
Avid Trump supporter and conservative Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene claims that her home was ‘swatted’ in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Greene lives in Rome, Georgia, and represents the 14th district in Congress.
In a tweet just before 9 am, the Donald Trump ally thanked her local police department and promised more information would be revealed.
She did not elaborate further on what kind of operation she claims happened.
‘Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am. I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County. More details to come,’ Greene wrote on Twitter.

Her office confirmed that a ‘political attack’ took place on Greene’s home in a statement to DailyMail.com.
It was not immediately clear what Greene meant by ‘swatted,’ however, nor if it was the result of a federal operation or anything linked to Trump, but the law enforcement officials are familiar with the tr=erm and an explanation came quickly.
Fox News reported that ” Swatting is the act of making a hoax call to 911 to try and draw responses from law enforcement. Suspects can use technology to make it appear that the emergency call is coming from the victim’s phone and the situations it can lead to can be deadly.”
Another source said, “Swatting” is commonly defined as “the action of making a false report of a serious emergency so that a SWAT team (= a group of officers trained to deal with dangerous situations) will go to a person’s home, by someone who wants to frighten, upset, or cause problems for that person”. The act usually involves heavily armed police.
In other words, a prank.
Needless to say, false 911 calls are illegal.
Greene stated that someone had called the police and falsely claimed that someone had been murdered at her home.
This was false, and making the calls is illegal, the actual criminal seems to be attempting to throw the blame on Greene, making her appear to have made a false call.
The police arrived and quickly assessed the situation.
“We responded and there was nothing,” Floyd County Police Department Assistant Chief Tome Ewing said.
This morning it was revealed that Greene called the incident “traumatizing” and stated, “I don’t care what political party you are – this is evil. This is not O.K. And I will find out who swatted my house And I will do everything in my power to bring them to justice.”
A spokesperson from Greene’s office said, “Right now, Congresswoman Greene’s safety is our number one concern,” continuing “Whoever committed this violent crime will face the full extent of the law.”
Very thankful for the local law enforcement there in Rome. Whoever did this will face the consequences of the full extent of the law. https://t.co/t1UOVML2vm

This is insane and unacceptable.
The people behind this need to be prosecuted and serve jail time. https://t.co/gBpMBPwHTd

Whoever did this must be held accountable. These actions risk innocent lives. https://t.co/FXvvwK6RUb

DailyMail.com has reached out to the Justice Department and the Rome Police Department for comment.
With the rise of conservative Republicans winning in primaries over RINO candidates, this action against Greene is suspected to be politically motivated but There is no proof of that at this moment.
The story is still breaking and more news will be forthcoming.
