Trump’s Star Should Remain on Hollywood Walk of Fame, Says Mayor

Trump's starThe Democrat mayor of Los Angeles is surprisingly against the decision to remove President Trump’s star from Hollywood Boulevard.

On Wednesday, Mayor Eric Garcetti told reporters the star should remain where it is despite the West Hollywood City Council’s unanimous vote to remove Trump’s star.

“We don’t have jurisdiction there, that’s something that’s a historic cultural monument, so like it or hate it, it’s there to stay,” explained Garcetti. “Look this whole politics has turned into a circus and it’s back and forth, we get trapped into playing their games of yelling back and forth and symbolic gestures, I’m into real work.”

Instead of removing the president’s Trump’s star, the Democrat mayor urged Democrats to give up the back-and-forth political attacks and instead focus on practical efforts to take control of the House in the November midterms.

The star has been through a rough month after being obliterated by a 24-year-old with a pick axe in late July.

The smashed star was in the news again in the days following when two separate brawls broke out between groups of protestors and Trump supporters, who were there to defend the president’s spot on the walk of fame.

Despite Mayor Garcetti’s calls, the West Hollywood City Council is still petitioning the city of Los Angeles to get rid of the symbol.

In the meantime, the star is currently safe after being fully repaired and reinstalled where it belongs. In all likelihood Trump’s star will remain there. Many people are not aware of the fact that each star that is placed on the sidewalk was paid for either by the celebrity themselves or by another private party.
