Donald Trump, a former president, warned that a nuclear war was imminent in a tweet on his social media platform Truth Social.
In the upcoming months, the U.S. will give Ukraine 31 modernized M1 Abrams tanks for $400 million, Vice President Biden said on Wednesday. In the end, a diplomatic impasse with Germany over how best to support Kyiv in its conflict with Russia was resolved.
According to Biden, Germany “has really stepped up” by deploying Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, issued the following statement in response to the announcement: “There are ongoing statements from European capitals and Washington that the sending of various weapons systems to Ukraine, including tanks, in no way signifies the involvement of these countries or the alliance in hostilities in Ukraine.”
“We vehemently disagree with this, and what the alliance and the capitals I listed are doing is viewed in Moscow as directly contributing to the crisis. In a press conference on Thursday, he remarked, “We see that this is expanding.
Without a question, Trump is raising the alarm at a time when the majority of politicians are calling for war.
“FIRST COME THE TANKS, THEN COME THE NUKES,” he warned on TRUTH Social. “Get this crazy war ended, NOW. So easy to do!”
It seems that Donald Trump is one of the few individuals who is aware of just how close we are to nuclear war.
The Russian government has made it clear that they are not mucking around.
“This extremely dangerous decision takes the conflict to a new level of confrontation,” Sergei Nechayev, the Russian Ambassador to Germany, declared on Wednesday. Nechayev also noted Leopard tanks being sent to Ukraine represented Germany’s “final refusal to recognize its historical responsibility to our people for Nazi crimes.”
As three people with knowledge of the plan say, the U.S. is planning to send the Abrams main battle tank to Kyiv in its more sophisticated M1A2 design instead of the older A1 version the military has in storage, Politico reported.
Despite this, the 31 tanks that will be sent to Ukraine won’t have the latest armor mix, according to sources.
“The A2 version has more sophisticated optics and controls than the older A1 version, which the Army intends to retire in the next few years. Outwardly similar to the A1, the A2 has a redesigned commander’s weapon station with improved optics for targeting, and an independent thermal viewer that allows the commander to independently scan for targets in all weather and battlefield conditions,” Politico explained.
The most radical changes are on the inside, which has been redesigned to take advantage of new technology. The control mechanisms are digitized, most notably a new inter-vehicle information system that allows vehicles to exchange information continuously and automatically. Using the new technology, commanders can rapidly track the location of friendly vehicles, identify enemy positions and process artillery requests.
But federal policy forbids the export of Abrams with classified armor packages used by the U.S. military, which includes depleted uranium, according to a fourth person with knowledge of the policy. The U.S. strips the vehicles of this secret armor “recipe” before selling them to other countries. There are other armor packages the U.S. can provide for foreign military sales customers.
Russian “Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also claimed it was proof of “a war planned in advance” – echoing Moscow’s false claims that NATO was planning aggressive action against Russia in the lead up to the war, Fox News reported.
Russian media has also down-played the decision by Washington with one TASS report claiming that Abrams tanks are “vulnerable” to Soviet-era weapons.
One retired Russian general also reportedly told the state-owned outlet that Abrams tanks are “weakly suited for operation on dusty terrain like in Ukraine.”
The coverage shows a stark comparison to Moscow’s reaction when the U.S. first approved HIMARS for deployment in Ukraine, which prompted subsequent warnings over providing long-range strike capabilities and threats of nuclear escalation.
Russia took a similar tactic following the announcement last month that the U.S. and Germany would send Patriot missile systems to Ukraine – one of the worlds most advanced air defense systems but which Russian President Vladimir Putin described as “quite old.”
Prior to the warning Trump issued about nuclear war, he posted on a variety of other subjects:

Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution! THANK YOU TO TRUTH SOCIAL FOR DOING SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JOB.
