Recent polls have shown that the American voters disapprove of President Joe Biden, and the Biden administration has had to take notice of the astounding statistics.
Democrats are hereby under pressure.
According to Gallup, one of the country’s top polling firms, Biden’s sixth-quarter approval rating was the lowest for any president on record at 38 percent.
The president’s current figure is also the lowest of his presidency thus far, while his average approval over the first year-and-a-half of his term is also the lowest of any other president in the polling firm’s 74-year history, The Daily Wire reported, citing the data.
“A year ago, Biden’s honeymoon period came to an end when his approval rating dropped to 50% amid a surge in U.S. coronavirus cases.
Since then, his public support has eroded after the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the highest inflation in four decades, record-high gas prices, and continuing supply chain issues,” Gallup noted in a news release.
“No president elected to his first term has had a lower sixth-quarter average than Biden, although Jimmy Carter’s and Donald Trump’s ratings were only slightly better, at 42%.
Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Ronald Reagan also averaged below majority approval,” the release added.
While Biden’s approval sits at 38 percent, according to Gallup, his disapproval rating is also high at 59 percent.
In addition, respondents had far more negative feelings about Biden than positive, with 45 percent saying they strongly disapproved of the job he’s doing compared to only 14 percent who moderately disproved.
At the same time, only 13 percent of respondents strongly approve of Biden while 25 percent only moderately approve.
The latest Gallup figures come amid tanking approval ratings for the president in several other recent surveys.
According to the RealClearPolitics average of polling, Biden’s approval has tanked to 36.8 percent, while his approval hit a record low of just 37.5 percent in FiveThirtyEight’s aggregate polling data.
His rating was negatively affected by recent New York Times/Siena College and Quinnipiac polls, both of which had him at just 33 percent approval.
Several other surveys have put him in the mid-30s.
His approval has since rebounded slightly, however: He currently is at 38.9 percent average approval in RealClearPolitics, while he’s at around 39.9 percent at FiveThirtyEight, though those averages are still considered very low.
“While Biden retains the support of the vast majority of Democrats, his 78% approval rating among his fellow partisans ties as the lowest for him to date, having previously descended to that level in December,” Gallup noted.
“The 31% of independents approving of Biden is a new low for him, while Republican approval continues to be scarce.”
Former White House strategist Steve Bannon is sounding the warning bells in an interview after a new poll revealed just how bad things are for Joe Biden.
During an episode on The War Room podcast, Bannon cited a poll showing that only 27% of Americans believe Biden’s administration is on the right track.
A massive 63% of Americans believe the Biden administration is on the wrong track.
“There’s a rule of thumb in politics on right-track, wrong-track. If you get down to around a third right track, two-thirds against you, that’s too big a headwind.
That’s what we had in ’16 when I stepped in, I said hey, it’s two-thirds, one-third under Obama. She’s [Hillary’s] done. Plus all these other points show people want a leader like Trump,” Bannon said.
Bannon addressed the fact that these low numbers are unprecedented, and that this is the end for the Democratic administration.
“27% is unprecedented ladies and gentlemen. These are numbers that have not been seen before. This is worse than when Nixon was walking out to the helicopter. These are unprecedented numbers. Talk about killing the crib. Eviscerated. This administration is done. You can’t come back from numbers like this,” Bannon added.
Bannon is, of course, a Republican, but the numbers are sending Democrats into survival mode.
Democratic strategists see Biden’s polling as problematic for the entire party heading into the midterms amid record-high inflation and continued high gas, diesel, food, and housing costs, Conservative Brief writes.
Several prominent Democrats are also dodging whether they will support Biden in 2024 as rumors fly that there’s serious turmoil between the president and Vice President Kamala Harris.
West Virginia Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin declined on Sunday to endorse Biden if the president seeks a second term in 2024.
“I’m not getting into 2022 or 2024,” he said, adding that “whoever is my president, that’s my president.”
Minnesota Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips publicly said that Biden shouldn’t run again in 2024, telling a talk radio station a “dynamic,” younger Democrat would be a much stronger presidential nominee.
Last month, New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would not commit to backing Biden in the 2024 presidential election, saying instead that “we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it,” wrote Conservative Brief.
This comes as reports suggest Biden’s inner circle has at least discussed the idea of replacing Harris on the 2024 ticket, assuming he runs for a second term in office.
