Fed Prosecutor Who Wrongfully Convicted Numerous Trump Supporters ARRESTED

On Tuesday in Florida, an individual who previously held the position of federal prosecutor stands accused of engaging in a road rage incident, whereby they allegedly stabbed a motorist and afterwards made threats to stab a couple. Patrick Scruggs, aged 38, served as an employee of the U.S. Attorney’s Office during the period spanning from 2013 to 2023. Throughout his tenure, Scruggs was actively engaged in several legal proceedings related to the events surrounding the protests that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

On Tuesday, Scruggs was apprehended subsequent to an alleged episode of intense anger following a collision involving three vehicles on the Howard Frankland Bridge. According to the Florida State Police, the individual who formerly held the position of federal prosecutor forcefully shattered a car window and afterwards inflicted many stab wounds onto the driver. According to reports, Scruggs purportedly emerged from his vehicle while carrying a pocketknife and proceeded to inflict stab wounds upon the victim. According to reports, when the couple made an effort to interfere, Scruggs purportedly pursued them and made an attempt to inflict harm by means of stabbing.

Iglinski expressed her sorrow at Scrugg’s response, “It’s just so sad that someone would react in that way. There’s so much road rage nowadays.”

Scruggs had recently transitioned from his position at the U.S. attorney’s office to pursue employment in the private sector, specifically with Barnes and Thornburg, a law firm headquartered in Atlanta.

During his tenure as a federal prosecutor, Scruggs was involved in many legal proceedings related to the events of January 6, namely concerning individuals residing in the state of Florida. One such instance involves Scruggs’ association with the legal proceedings against Adam Johnson, who gained notoriety as the “lectern guy” for his involvement in the January 6 Capitol protests, where he was pictured holding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern.

“This is a serious case. Everyone involved in the storming of the Capitol last week needs to be held accountable for their actions,” Scruggs emphasized .

Johnson made a statement regarding Scruggs’ arrest, “Meet the guy who prosecuted me in Tampa for walking in a building on January 6th.”

Johnson expressed in an X post, “My crimes were so egregious that he demanded I wear an ankle monitor, be drugged tested at random, surrender my passports, be restricted to middle district of Florida, and given a nightly curfew. What restrictions do you think he should get for stabbing a man repeatedly in public?”

Following the occurrence, Scruggs was promptly apprehended and is now confronted with allegations of aggravated violence, aggravated assault, and armed burglary. According to a report by Newsweek, the individual who suffered severe injuries was admitted to a hospital.

The attorney Scruggs was discharged from the Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday subsequent to fulfilling the requirement of posting a bail amounting to $65,000. Several defendants involved in the events of January 6 were detained for extended periods of time, ranging from months to, in certain instances, years, without being granted bail.

In August, a court order requested by special counsel Jack Smith which would restrict what Trump may say in public about his Jan. 6 case appeared set to be disobeyed by the America-first billionaire.

As reported by NBC News, on Tuesday, Trump promised that he “will talk” about the criminal charges he is now dealing with related to claims he sought to rig the 2020 election. He also accused federal prosecutors of “taking away my First Amendment rights.”
