A hacker gained access to Donald Trump Jr.’s account on X, formerly Twitter, early Wednesday and posted several inflammatory messages, including that Trump Jr.’s father, former President Donald Trump, was dead.
“I’m sad to announce, my father Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024,” one of the hacker’s now-deleted posts stated.
“F-ck @JoeBiden Stupid A– N*–a,” another post read.
“This just in: North Korea is about to get smoked,” a third post stated.
The posts remained on Trump Jr.’s account for less than an hour and were deleted before 9 a.m., The Hill reported.
Trump Jr.’s brother, Eric Trump, teased his brother on X over the hack.
“What was @donaldtrumpjr password? Don2024?” Eric Trump posted.
Last month, Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) announced that he was targeted by Chinese hackers believed to be affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
In a post shared on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Bacon wrote, “I thank the FBI for notifying me that the CCP hacked into my personal and campaign emails from May 15th to June 16th of this year.”
This incident wasn’t just an isolated breach; as Bacon pointed out, the intruders “utilized a vulnerability in the Microsoft software” and clarified that the compromise was not due to “user error.”
The hacking operation was revealed to be more widespread, with the congressman stating, “Thus, there were other victims in this cyber operation.”
Bacon, with his tenure spanning six years in Congress, took a moment to remind the public of the geopolitical implications of such incidents. He asserted, “The Communist government in China are not our friends and are very active in conducting cyber espionage.”
This was a breaking news story. The details were periodically updated as more information became available.
