President Trump cancels meeting with President Putin over conflict with Russia, Ukraine

President Trump has decided to cancel his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was expected to happen at the G20 summit in Argentina.

In a series of tweets, the president said based on the fact the ships and sailors have not been returned to Ukraine from Russia, he decided it would be best for everyone to cancel the meeting with Putin.

Bill supporting troop withdrawal from Yemen passes Senate vote

The Senate is advancing a bill to pull U.S. troops out of Yemen. The bill, which would end U.S. military support for the Saudi-led campaign in Yemen, passed by a vote of 63-to-37 on Wednesday.

The measure would require President Trump to remove troops “in or affecting Yemen” within 30-days.

Taliban carries out coordinated attack on Afghan security firm

Taliban forces in Afghanistan recently attacked a security firm in the nation’s capital, leaving at least 10 people dead and 19 others wounded.

According to police in Kabul Wednesday, the attack began with a suicide bomber detonating his explosives. Taliban fighters then shot at security forces in the building.

This comes as the latest act of terrorism from the insurgents in a series of frequent assaults on defense and government targets.

Mich. state senators vote to extend minimum wage, cut paid sick leave

Michigan workers will likely have to wait a little longer to see a boost in their pay checks after state senators voted to postpone a minimum wage hike.

The Republican controlled state Senate approved two bills on Wednesday in a 26-to-12 vote.

The first bill would postpone a minimum wage increase, which was set to reach $12 an hour by 2022. The measure would extended the increase until 2030.

President Trump is calling on Congress to pass legislation in order to protect the car industry in the United States.

In a series of tweets Wednesday, the president suggested adding a tariff on imported cars as a way to encourage domestic car production.

He said the small truck business in the U.S. has been a favorite for many years due to a 25-percent tariff on foreign trucks.
