The nominees in one of the most highly anticipated Senate races in the country took the debate stage for the final time before election day.
Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly and Republican challenger Mike Braun squared off on Tuesday and clashed on a number of critical issues.
Braun called out Donnelly over his ‘no’ vote on now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh. He also claimed Senator Donnelly is not working with the president’s agenda, which is something the incumbent Democrat refuted.
However, health care was the major talking point of the night with Braun calling out Donnelly over his stance on Obamacare.
“It was called the Affordable Care Act, which Joe was all for. It’s the unaffordable care act — it was doomed to fail because you had big government get in cahoots with big health care, specifically big health insurance. I took on the health insurance companies 10 years ago and, regardless what his Democratic talking points are, I would never be for any replacement that doesn’t cover preexisting conditions.” — Mike Braun, (R) Senate candidate
President Trump is visiting Indiana on the Monday as he looks to rally support for Braun one last time before the election. The president won the state in 2016 by double digits.
