President Trump delivers the keynote address at the Ohio Republican Party state dinner.
The president’s appearance Friday attempts to unite the Republican party in the state, ahead of midterm elections.
The president praised his tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, which he says will specifically benefit workers in Ohio in the long run.
He also praised the work of Representative Jim Jordan, who he said is doing a remarkable job despite facing unfair allegations.
The president was stumping on behalf of Mike DeWine, who’s trying to replace term limited Governor Jon Kasich.
The president visited Ohio on August 4 to campaign for House candidate Troy Balderson.
Earlier in the day, Balderson was declared the winner of that election after counting provisional ballots.
Republicans are hoping the endorsements continue to bring success in the state come November.
