Trump Addresses Melania’s Absence

Former President Donald Trump was asked during a recent, much-discussed interview with Fox News host Bret Baier how his wife, former first lady Melania Trump was handling his legal issues after being indicted twice now. Trump insisted that she was with him “100%”.

Though, where is Melania? In the last several weeks, Trump has been fighting the Democrats’ persecution, while she’s nowhere in sight. The former president is even campaigning for a second term in the White House, something Melania Trump should be very vocal about.

“She is a woman of great dignity and beauty and style,” Trump told Baier, in footage that aired on the night of Tuesday, June 20th. “She is a very popular first lady, although a lot of people might not know that one way or another.”

He explained that supporters are often holding up signs at several rallies illustrating their love for the former first lady.

“The people love Melania. She’s a very confident person. She feels I’m being very badly mistreated,” Trump said. “And she says, ‘You go ahead and you do whatever you want to do because I’m with you 100%.’”

“So Melania and Barron — fully in?” Baier asked.

“They’re great. They’re great,” he replied.

Melania was present in the past when Trump announced his third presidential bid, and she even went as far as to issue a statement back in May 2023. The Trump campaign shared the statement this week with the Daily Mail, trying to voice her support in the matter with Trump.

“He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength,” Mrs. Trump said in the release.

The British paper released exclusive images of Melania and their son Barron, 17, getting into SUVs on Wednesday, June 21st, Donald Trump’s 77th birthday, with several bags of Louis Vuitton luggage. However, no one knows where they went from there.

“And while Trump was being federally indicted in Florida, Melania Trump was seen going to maintenance appointments around Manhattan. She was not at his speech at his Bedminister, N.J., golf club last week when he defended himself against the latest round of charges,” the Daily Mail noted, adding that there have been reports that Melania “was looking to flee the United States this summer as her husband faces multiple legal issues, taking Barron to Europe.”

Her absence isn’t just something to brush under the rug, as it carries several issues. The newspaper suggests that voters may conclude it “as a lack of support on her part.”

Though, an assumption from voters isn’t the only issue with Melania’s absence. Without her on the campaign trail, Trump’s image is now against the wholesome one being portrayed of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, his primary rival in the race. Casey DeSantis is being depicted as a vital part of his campaign and she and their three young children are often in the company of him on the stump.

Team DeSantis posted on Twitter “Mason loves the rodeo…he’s a natural! @CaseyDeSantis is a proud mom,” with an attached video of her and one of their sons. This image can be severely detrimental to Trump, for it seems he has no support system in his family. That can allude to several illusions in the voting box.
