According to reports, Alyssa Farah Griffin met with federal prosecutors on Jan. 6 to assist them in determining former President Donald Trump’s “state of mind” before to the incursion.
Griffin, 33, was the director of communications while Donald Trump was president. He is currently a political pundit for CNN and a co-host of “The View.”
Griffin is regarded as a Republican, although in recent years, her more left-leaning opinions have drawn criticism.
According to information released by CNN on Wednesday, Griffin had a formal interview as part of the special counsel’s ongoing inquiry into Trump’s involvement in the Capitol intrusion.
According to sources cited by CNN, Griffin voluntarily met with prosecutors to talk about the events of January 6, 2021, and Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was rigged.
Griffin was allegedly taken aback by the prosecutors’ line of inquiry, which asked her specifically about Trump’s “mindset” following the election.
Additionally, according to sources, Griffin was questioned about the roles played in the effort to prevent the certification of the 2020 election by former Vice President Mike Pence and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

Griffin, according to CNN, recalled a conversation she had previously detailed before the House select committee on January 6 in which Trump appeared to accept that he had lost the election approximately a week after President Joe Biden was declared the winner.
“I popped into the Oval [Office] just to, like, give the president the headlines and see how he was doing,” Griffin told the committee last year.
“And he was looking at the TV and he said, ‘Can you believe I lost to this effing guy?’ And then just kind of moved forward. But in that moment I think he knew he lost.”
According to the New York Post, she went on to say that she thinks Trump has “delusion” and “[surrounds] himself [with] only information that matches what he wants to hear and believe.”
“I really do think he believes it was stolen. I think many people around him do as well,” she added.
Griffin left her role in the Trump administration in December 2020, describing it as “the honor of a lifetime,” according to CNN.
Last month, after she accused him of treating young female staff members sexually, Trump saw her changed attitude toward him.
Griffin had earlier labeled Trump a “remarkable man” and a “strong leader,” as Trump recounted in a series of posts on Truth Social.
