As former President Donald Trump gears up to address the New York financial charges dredged up from the past, Hunter Biden and the investigation into the information found on his laptop simmers in the background. The out-of-court settlement to accuser Stormy Daniels was formerly put to rest, and Trump has repeatedly stated that there is no wrongdoing on his part.
But the facts surrounding Biden’s information are like a mushroom cloud, growing and expanding as time goes on. It seems that Hunter Biden’s attorney, Kevin Morris, has been communicating with a “researcher” working with the conservative think tank Marco Polo.
Morris sued Marco Polo and its founder, former Trump White House staffer Garrett Ziegler, in a Los Angeles court last week for alleged harassment, invasion of privacy, and “criminal impersonation”‘ over the nonprofit’s investigation into Hunter’s abandoned laptop and alleged Biden family corruption.
During heated texts between the two, Hunter Biden’s lawyer claimed there will be “3 more”, in reference to Donald Trump’s arrest, and raised questions over what the First Son’s legal team know about prosecutors’ plans against the former President.
The Daily Mail reports:
The Marco Polo self-described “researcher”, texting Morris under a pseudonym, attempted to rile up the multi-millionaire lawyer by taunting him with texts about his family and information from Marco Polo’s 645-page report on Hunter’s laptop and the First Son’s shady dealings with the Chinese, Ukrainians and other foreign businessmen.
Morris shot back, in Signal app messages from March 30 obtained by DailyMail.com, writing: “I love when you just keep talking. Don’t worry if you missed the Trump news. There’ll be 3 more over the next few weeks.”
In another exchange on April 4, the anonymous provocateur texted Morris: “Not everyday you get to arrest your political rival,” and the attorney replied: “Imagine 4 of them.”
The texts raise questions over what Hunter’s legal team know about potential plans by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and other law enforcement agencies in potential cases against Trump or his associates.
There can be no question that the comments are referring to more trouble for Trump. These troubles could include a Fulton County, Georgia probe into election meddling, a review of how Trump handled sensitive government documents found at his Mar-a-Lago home, and a special counsel investigation into Trump’s alleged role in the January 6 2021 riots at the Capitol, all charges that have gone nowhere so far.
Daily Mail continues:
Morris also claimed in texts attached as an exhibit to his legal complaint, that he had a team of ‘8 lawyers with 10+ years as AUSA’s in SDNY,’ – referring to Assistant US Attorneys in the Southern District of New York.
“We have 8 SDNY prosecutors on our team. All this took was a phone call. 8 lawyers with 10+ years as AUSA’s in SDNY,’ he wrote. ‘Everything you put on social media is being monitored by 3-4 law enforcement agendas.”
Morris also claimed to be working with the FBI reporting alleged harassment by Marco Polo in text messages sent to the group in June last year.
“Any and all texts go automatically to SDNY and NYV and WDC FBI you f***ing moron,” the lawyer wrote. “You like to scare people? You like showing personal information? Beating up on girls? And every time one of you morons responds to Garret’s texts asking for help the FBI has recorded it.”
The researcher told DailyMail.com they started texting with Morris of their own accord, but later forwarded the expletive-ridden, sparring conversations with Morris to Marco Polo.
Morris has been described as Hunter’s “sugar brother”, after reportedly lending the First Son up to $2.8 million to pay off his IRS tax bill in an apparent bid to stave off a tax crimes investigation by federal prosecutors. Reports of his addition to Hunter’s legal team emerged in May last year.
On Monday Morris filed a civil lawsuit against Ziegler and his nonprofit, demanding at least $5 million for alleged doxing, harassment, invasion of privacy, criminal impersonation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint calls Ziegler, 27, “a right-wing extremist and provocateur who has made a reputation harassing people connected to President Joe Biden or his son, Hunter Biden.”
In a statement, Ziegler told DailyMail.com the lawsuit was “utterly ridiculous” and “false”, Daily Mail noted. “What Morris is alleging in the lawsuit is utterly ridiculous,” he said.
“Marco Polo is an open source intelligence collective. That means we are constantly receiving tips and material from digital savants across the country,” he added. “It’s a small group, granted. There’s only about a half dozen of us, but those half a dozen people know a lot of right-wing activists across the country. So it’s a grassroots activists collective.”
The feud between Hunter’s lawyers and the nonprofit began when Marco Polo released a 645-page report in October last year detailing alleged corruption by the Biden family and embarrassing details of Hunter’s drug and prostitute use. The report accused Hunter, Biden family members including President Joe Biden, and their associates of a total 459 crimes, Daily Mail reports.
