DeSantis goes viral with Fauci one-liner…

Ron DeSantis flaunted the ultimate definitive smackdown of Dr. Anthony Fauci in reaction to Fauci finally retiring from public ‘service,’ which was expected and announced on Friday.

DeSantis unfurled abuse onto Fauci, which was so welcomed by the general public that his comments instantly went viral. DeSantis sounded masterful when he described his opinion of Fauci’s work in government and where he would like to see Fauci end up after retirement.

Fauci was described by DeSantis as an“elf” and Desantis he should be chucked “across the Potomac” River during a speech on Wednesday.

DeSantis is not fooling around.

He is uncontested in Florida as the Republican gubernatorial nominee and he is wildly popular and generally viewed as a firebrand and determined America First candidate.

The Fauci comments were not a surprise. A recent campaign ad shows that DeSantis is comfortable in Gauntlet Mode:

“The comments came during a Florida GOP “Keep Florida Free” event in Seminole County with Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.),” according to WFLA News who reported on the welcomed poke at Fauci.

Fauci, 81, announced he is stepping down from long-held positions in December and that can’t be soon enough for the Republican firebrand who is a vocal and ardent detractor of Biden’s chief medical adviser.

“We were the ones who stood on the wall, more than any other state, to say we are not going to be locking people down, and we’re going to be lifting people up,” DeSantis said.

“You have people like Fauci saying that his lockdowns didn’t cause any permanent damage to any young kids. I got news for you. It did. And we’re going to reap those rewards across the whole country for years and years and years because they treated kids so poorly,” he continued.

DeSantis took aim and stated, “Joe Biden is the worst president of my lifetime.”

DeSantis went after President Biden and the left with a great deal of vigor and enthusiasm, tearing into them for woke policies that have devastated the nation.

“We’ve proudly said Florida is the state where woke goes to die,” the governor proclaimed and then savaged Biden.

“You’ve got to understand with the border it’s a policy disaster,” DeSantis said according to WFLA, “but it’s also a constitutional failure. Biden took an oath to take care that the laws of this country are faithfully executed.”

Fauci has asserted he is not “retiring” but is “moving on from my current positions.”

“I am announcing today that I will be stepping down from the positions of Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, as well as the position of Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden,” he stated.

“I will be leaving these positions in December of this year to pursue the next chapter of my career,” Fauci announced. “I want to use what I have learned as NIAID Director to continue to advance science and public health and to inspire and mentor the next generation of scientific leaders as they help prepare the world to face future infectious disease threats.”

“The virologist has claimed that former President Trump and the right’s rhetoric against him has led to “serious threats” against him and his family and that resulted in a federal security detail being assigned to him,” Biz Pac Review reported.

“It’s telling that some people are more offended by DeSantis calling Fauci an elf than they are by the irreparable damage Fauci inflicted on the country,” David Harsanyi posted on Twitter.

“As Fauci announced his intention to step down, many GOP leaders called for an investigation into his leadership and actions during the pandemic. Republicans informed him that stepping down would not prevent him from being investigated and prosecuted if it is deemed appropriate.

Just because he’s retiring doesn’t mean Fauci escapes liability. Special Counsel needs to be appointed ASAP to investigate Fauci – his connections to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, what he and Birx knew about the COVID vaccine, and whether he lied to Congress,” Theressa Monroe Hamilton reported for Biz Pac review.

DeSantis was generally opposed to the Biden-Fauci pandemic restrictions and kept Florida as open as possible so it is no surprise that he would take the opportunity of Fauci leaving to slam both Fauci and Biden.

DeSantis had said earlier in August:

“Biden wanted you to lose your job if you didn’t get a Covid shot… Nobody should have to chose between a job they need and a shot they don’t want. “You get the shot or you don’t, that’s your choice, but you’re still going to get infected anyways… There’s no basis to force this on anybody.”They put ideology above data and evidence. They constantly move the goalposts because they will never admit that their ideology is incorrect.”
