In July, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was pressed by Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes to explain why Capitol Police failed to take extra security measures leading up to and on the day of the violence.
In an interview with Newsmax’s “Spicer & Co.,” Nunes, a former Republican Representative, discussed the issue with Kash Patel, who worked for Nunes when he was the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Patel went on to become a top official in Trump’s administration.
“There was intelligence ahead of time that the Capitol Police should have known – which clearly Kash over at the White House, they knew, which is why President Trump authorized National Guard troops,” Nunes declared.
“You know there are tens of thousands of people coming, and you do nothing? And this is the question Nancy Pelosi is going to have to answer because the payback is going to be a ‘you-know-what’ if Republicans are successful this November,” he continued.
Now, former President Donald Trump is asking questions along a similar line.
It is estimated that 4,000 illegal immigrants are ‘inundating’ Washington D.C.’s streets at the present time. This number is not extraordinary given that Washington D.C.’s population is approximately 689,545 individuals.
In order to deal with these 4,000 illegals, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser wants to deploy the National Guard…
She is keen on enlisting the National Guard for the removal of 4,000 people. Yet she was unwilling to do the same for January 6th.
On the 6th, a far greater number of people poured into the area, and several agencies and President Trump requested troops be sent to the D.C. area in order to keep the peace.
In his post on Truth Social, President Trump asked:
The Mayor of Washington, D.C., wants the National Guard to help with the thousands of Illegal Immigrants, coming from the insane Open Border, that are flooding the City, but refused National Guard help when it came to providing Security at the Capitol Building for a far larger crowd on January 6th. Figure that one out?
If we sent the National Guard to the border we would not need them in Washington DC

“Bowser’s government has sent two separate letters to the White House and the Pentagon seeking federal help, describing the situation at the nation’s capital as a “humanitarian crisis.” In one of the letters, Bowser added that the arriving immigrants had brought her city to a “tipping point,”” according to the Epoch Times.
Bowser, a Democrat, blamed Arizona and Texas in the other letter, saying the migrant crisis is “cruel political gamesmanship from the Governors of Texas and Arizona.”
The D.C. mayor has also claimed that immigrants are “being tricked” into opting to take buses to the nation’s capital.
Over one million illegal immigrants have been dumped on Texas and Arizona border towns since Joe Biden took office and it took an influx of less than 4,000 into Washington DC for @MayorBowser to call in the National Guard.

The 4,000 illegal aliens and border crossers who have arrived recently represent a fraction of the total number of people who cross America’s border illegally every day.
Nearly 130,000 illegal aliens and border crossers were caught in Texas border towns alone in June.
The Times continued, “Responding to Bowser’s request for the National Guard, Abbott wrote on Twitter that the problem that D.C. is experiencing is small compared to what Texas has been dealing with.”
“D.C. is experiencing a fraction of the disastrous impact the border crisis has caused Texas,” Abbot stated. “Mayor Bowser should stop attacking Texas for securing the border & demand Joe Biden do his job.”
On July 29, Abbott’s office released a press release detailing what it had accomplished with the state’s Operation Lone Star, a program launched in March 2021 to prevent criminal activity along the border, including drug smuggling and human trafficking.
“Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to more than 287,000 migrant apprehensions and more than 17,700 criminal arrests, with more than 15,100 felony charges reported,” Abbott’s office declared in the release.
“In the fight against fentanyl, DPS [Texas Department of Public Safety] has seized over 325 million lethal doses throughout the state,” it continued.
“Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps left by the Biden Administration’s refusal to secure the border,” it stated. “Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Biden’s open border policies.”
Regarding January 6th and the lack of security, Republicans are planning to exert pressure on Pelosi because several of their own members were subpoenaed by the committee.
Almost a month after the incident, four Republicans wrote Pelosi asking why she hadn’t done more to secure the Capitol, including asking for National Guard deployments and a larger Capitol Police force.
As of yet, Pelosi has not responded publicly to the members’ letter seeking an explanation.
However, her handpicked committee has issued subpoenas to several GOP members who are also staunch Trump supporters, which has led several of them to pledge to investigate on their own if the GOP wins control of the chamber in November.
