Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito MOCKS Prince Harry for attacking decision to overturn Roe v. Wade

Overturning Roe V. Wade with a Supreme Court decision was a supreme pleasure for Justice Samuel Alito to write, he told an audience last week, in his first public comments since the consequential court decision was announced to send abortion back down to the states to legislate.

“I had the honor this term of writing, I think, the only Supreme Court decision in the history of that institution that has been lambasted by a whole string of foreign leaders who felt perfectly fine commenting on American law,” Alito said.

Alito, during his appearance, which was posted Thursday at the University of Notre Dame Law School in Rome, took the opportunity slam and to mock haughty British Prince Harry- who last week got in front of the cameras to decry the court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, by comparing it to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Harry, who has done nothing but show his disdain for America since he moved here with his American wife, spoke to the UN headquarters in New York City, of all places in mid-July, implying that the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade is an example of the “threats to democracy and freedom” that the world has been facing in recent years.

“Alito, 72, drew laughter with his scathing speech at a conference on religious liberty in Italy, his first public remarks since the landmark 1973 abortion rights decision was overturned.

The exiled UK royal’s speech — which cited “the rolling back of constitutional rights” in the US as proof of “a painful year” — was far from the only non-American whose criticism Alito dismissed,” The New York Post reported.

But Alito would have the final say.

Mark Stern, a reporter for Slate posted on Twitter: “His Rome speech on religious liberty, Justice Alito mocked foreign leaders who condemned his opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, including Boris Johnson, Macron, Trudeau, and … Prince Harry.

Johnson, who announced his resignation July 7 amid a succession of scandals, had called the Supreme Court ruling a “big step backwards.”

Of Boris, Alito quipped: “He paid the price.”

‘The decision was lambasted by a whole string of foreign leaders… but what really wounded me was when Duke of Sussex addressed the UN and compared it with the Russian attack on Ukraine,’ Alito joked, as he called out French President Emmanuel Macron by name in his speech.

Alito was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005; his past controversial decisions are largely rooted in protecting religious freedoms. Alito, in his Thursday speech commented on what he called “hostility to religion”. 

“The problem that looms is not just indifference to religion, it’s not just ignorance about religion,” he said. “There’s also growing hostility to religion, or at least the traditional religious beliefs that are contrary to the new moral code that is ascendant in some sectors.”

“Unless the people can be convinced that robust religious liberty is worth protecting, it will not endure,” he said.

But what was most notable to social media about the speech was the slam on Harry that was so cringe-worthy.

The left was very hurt by Alito and took the opportunity to flood social media with anti-American rage, that he would have the nerve to confront the elitists who had mocked him.

Interesting to see how much they’ll care about investigating Alito opinion leak now that evidence points to leak from the right,” Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat US Senator from Oregon, posted in response to Alito’s speech.

And the long knives were out- about mocking a royal- as Democrat US Rep AOC took the talking point further:

“Remember: it was Alito’s opinion that leaked. That fact paired with his politicized remarks below should be alarming to anyone. The Supreme Court is in a legitimacy crisis. Chief Justice Roberts has a responsibility to share the progress & results of SCOTUS’ leak investigation,” AOC posted.

Even somewhat lefty-British media knew that Harry overstepped, as awesome GB News reported on the Telegraph’s reaction:

“It’s Telegraph and we know of Prince Harry’s not going to be king, but maybe he’s pivoting into politics.  Harry is becoming more vocal, and he’s definitely commenting on political issues, which had it been a working Royal under that sort of title working, he would definitely not have really been allowed to do.

So he’s using his somewhat freedom to suggest that he said Roe vs. Wade, the ruling is part of a global assault on democracy and freedom.

And he also says he’s talking about constitutional rights here in the United States. So he’s really embedding himself, as now, as sort of, as an American American cities or certainly part of America by using the word here, I think. It is a very important issue but it’s really an important issue in America. It’s not a global issue,” the gues said.

“Why do I need to hear from Prince? Harry? Why was it Prince Harry? Why do I care what Prince Harry has had to say about this? First of all, you’re right; you shouldn’t because it gives more freedom to different states in the United States to set their own parameters for what they want their abortion laws to be.

So it hasn’t ended abortion in the state. And if you look at the EU, for example, I mean many countries have 12 weeks within that time, you can have an abortion Slovenia has 10 weeks. So you might ask, why doesn’t Prince Harry criticize that?
