The world was shocked when it found out that Ivana Trump, Donald Trump’s first wife, died on Thursday. She was only 73.

Even though Ivana became known for her marriage to the former president of the United States in the late ’70s, she was much more than that – she was a businesswoman, a writer, a dress designer, and above all, a loving mother.

Her parents, Marie, a telephone operator, and Milos, an engineer who died in 1990, raised her in Zlin, a factory town in former communist Czechoslovakia. During her childhood, Ivana skied competitively on the national skiing team and the sport provided the inspiration that guided her life.

Ivana was the mother of Don. Jr, Ivanka, and Eric Trump.

A grieving Ivanka paid tribute to her late mother saying “Heartbroken by the passing of my mother. Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate and wickedly funny. She lived life to the fullest — never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance. I will miss her forever and will keep her memory alive in our hearts always.”

She may have died tragically after falling down the stairs of her New York City home, according to police officials.

As reported by the Associated Press, police are investigating whether Ivana fell down the stairs from her home after she was found unconscious near the bottom.

Her death is believed to be the result of an accident, according to officials.

A police spokesperson told Fox News that police found the 73-year-old unconscious after responding to a 911 call on Thursday:

“On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at approximately 1240 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an aided individual at 10 East 64 Street, within the confines of the 19 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 73-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.”

According to Fox:

An NYPD spokesperson told Fox News Digital there is no criminality suspected and police are staging outside her Upper East Side home for security purposes. A spokesperson for the NYPD also told Fox News that Trump was found unconscious “in close proximity” to the bottom of a staircase in her apartment.

The New York City Fire Department responded to a report of a cardiac arrest at Trump’s residence on Thursday afternoon, a source told Fox News. A law enforcement source told Fox News that someone at Trump’s residence called police to ask for a wellness check because he hadn’t seen her in a while. When authorities arrived, they opened her door and found her at the bottom of the stairs, but it’s unclear whether she fell.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump,” A statement by Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump read.

“Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children grit and toughness, compassion, and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children, and ten grandchildren.”

Ivana Trump’s tragic death was lamented by Donald Trump on Truth Social.

“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life,” he articulated. “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”

It was in 1977 that Ivana married Donald. The couple divorced in 1992.

Eric Trump posted on Instagram: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman – a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be missed.”

Kayleigh McEnany, former press secretary of the Trump White House posted on Twitter “My family and I send all of our love and prayers to President Trump @IvankaTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr @EricTrump and the entire Trump family for the loss of Ivana Trump. Thinking of you all during this very difficult time.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said “My prayers are with the Trump family for the loss of a treasured family member, Ivana Trump. May Ivana Rest In Peace.”

Rudy Giuliani, the mayor of New York City during the 9/11 terror attacks posted:

“Ivana Trump was a truly talented, creative and beautiful person. She contributed greatly particularly to New York. Remarkably, with all the massive distractions, she and President Donald J. Trump gave the world exceptionally good, balanced and decent children and grandchildren.”

The leftist news outlet Occupy Democrats which political fact-checking sites say is full of fake news showed how ugly their hearts are in a post.
