A man is facing charges including “malicious destruction of property” after cops say he crashed his car into a Trump store in Easton.
Sean Flaherty, 46, of Raynham, is accused of plowing his car right into the “New England for Trump” store on Route 138 around 5 p.m. Thursday.
Video from Channel 7 shows the car come busting through the front wall, sending MAGA merchandise flying and a man inside flinching back, lucky he wasn’t standing just a few more feet toward the middle of the store where the car ended up.
Easton cops in a statement said no one was hurt besides Flaherty, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cops said that “at this time” Flaherty is charged with been charged reckless operation of a motor vehicle and malicious destruction of property. “Additional charges may follow”, the police added in a parenthetical.
Easton police said they requested that the state Registry of Motor Vehicles revoke Flaherty’s license “immediately.”
A photographer at the Brockton Enterprise newspaper posted photos that show an assortment of bumper stickers on the Jetta that plowed into the building, including one that appears to be anti-Trump.
No information was immediately available from the cops or from Taunton District Court, where people charged with crimes in Easton are arraigned.
