Trump Goes OFF on Piers Morgan in Explosive Interview

This week, Donald Trump wasted little time going off on British sensationalist journalist Piers Morgan in what appears to be a hostile interview to be aired on Monday in full. And another journalist, Candace Owens, is correcting yet another disinformation campaign aimed at smearing Trump, thereby destroying Morgan’s fake ‘gotcha” scheme.

Morgan had teased out a quick video on Twitter late on Wednesday to build momentum for his interview with Trump that only showed snippets of the soon-to-be-seen interview between the two-  and it appeared from the teaser as if tensions rose quickly between the two, which we are now discovering could have been some creative editing on the part of Morgan.

Seen in the tease was Morgan telling Trump in the face-to-face interview that he “lost” the 2020 presidential election, knowing that would be great clickbait for the audience to react to, and Morgan is good at his craft of being bombastic. News went viral quickly about the anticipated interview.

The discussion went on:

Trump said, “Only a fool would think that.”

“You think I’m a fool?” Morgan snidely asked.

“I do now, yes,” Trump shot back.

And Morgan’s Promo teaser framed the discussion like Trump said, ‘turn the camera off’ while getting up and then storming out.

The nasty trailer clip was first reported by the New York Post, owned by News Corp.  It is important to note here that Morgan recently signed a comprehensive TV and print deal with the same News Corp, hinting at a bit of an ethical conflict for Morgan to create what now really looks like a manufactured smear.

Trump, who was obviously prepared for the set up had recorded the interview for himself. So when he is telling someone to “turn cameras off”, he could be signaling for someone on his own team to note that the interview is over.

Soon after the manufactured teaser went viral on social media, Trump’s team provided audio to Breitbart News that established that Morgan and his team deceptively edited the interview video to make it appear as he walked out of the interview in anger- when he did not do any such thing.

To embolden his own unverified claims, Morgan went to the digital media to double down on his claims.

Morgan, then in a New York Post column wrote that Trump ended the interview by ‘abruptly jumping to his feet, looking hateful, and barking at the shocked crew’.

Trump’s political opposition, loving the idea of a good fight and smear on Trump, began to circulate that Trump had stomped off the set, and left Morgan to pick up the pieces of an empty interview, helping him spread his fake news.

However, when the interview and released audio was later released to the public everything indicated that Trump, in fact- did NOT storm out and instead ended the sit-down with laughing and small-talk.

“This is a pathetic attempt to use President Trump as a way to revive the career of a failed television host,” Taylor Budowich, Trump’s communications director, told Breitbart News. “It is also another example of President Trump being right, as he told Piers Morgan that the host was dishonest to his face, and Piers, for the first time in his life, didn’t disappoint.”

Budowich went on to say:

“Trump spent more than an hour with Morgan, and the way the promo clip cuts together what it calls “Morgan Versus Trump” moments to promote the interview which will air on this coming Monday night is particularly deceptive. Most of those moments had nothing to do with the election issue at all, and the full audio of the last bit of the interview shows that Trump standing up and walking away and saying “turn the camera off” came after Morgan ended the interview and thanked Trump for a “great interview.”

Audio reveals the two men laughing and chatting as the interview wraps up.  Budowich repeated to the media that Trump said ‘turn the camera off’ AFTER getting up, which according to Candace Owens, is typical for the former President to do when he was ending an interview- and she offered up her own clips to prove it.

Candace Owens, a popular political pundit had something to add in Trump’s defense:

“If my team were as unethical and dishonest as the snake @piersmorgan, we would have sensationally edited this clip of Trump to make it look like he threw a tantrum and asked the cameras to be shut off when in reality—the interview was over and we simply wanted to chat off-camera,” Owens reported on Twitter.

In the view with Owens, Trump is heard saying “shut the camera off”.

Owens added:

“NBC is now to defending Trump— that’s how deceptive, disgusting and appalling @piersmorganis. For the record, when I interviewed Trump he also said “turn the cameras off” once the interview concluded. Only an absolute desperate hack would misrepresent that statement for ratings.”
