Just a few years ago presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg was a supporter of President Trump a recently resurfaced interview from 2017 has revealed.
Bloomberg told viewers during his interview on The View, that even if they didn’t vote for the president, they should get behind him. He maintained that, “In the end, the public has spoken, whether you like the results or not.” He continued, “we’re a democracy” and that “we need this country to run well.”
Bloomberg further complimented the way the Trump ran his 2016 presidential campaign as he noted that the amount of money that was spent was far below what one would expect to invest on such an endeavor.
Bloomberg said,“Maybe it shows all the money in the world can’t buy an election,” he said. “Donald Trump showed that you can get elected President of the United States without spending a lot of money.”
Meanwhile, Bloomberg has already dropped millions of dollars on advertisements for his own 2020 campaign.
Reports this week showed the former New York mayor spent an average of $1 million per day in January on Facebook ads alone.
